Juile Voss

Today Julie Voss came into Rm 4 and Our classroom Rm 3  went into Rm 4 and Julie taught sigh language . She also teaches  a deaf boy at westbrook his name is Sebastian. She also taught us many different sighs like the Alphabet and how to say pleased to meet you it was so fun to learn with Julie. Also she talked about how deaf people feel the music by the vibration of the loud music. So I'm very interested in learning about all of the different types of SINGH!!!!.

Dance time!

Every Monday my class goes

 to the hall, TO DANCE!!!!!! 

For the pass few weeks we have learned more than 2 types of dance we learned the chicken dance the chicken dance is from Germany,folk dance, Cotton Eye Joe dance  is from the u.s.a line up and the Seven Jump dance, the seven jump dance that is from Denmark

 I think that dance with Mrs Dennis was super duper fun and I really in joyed it because we learned new types of dance I didn't know that existed. 

Hip hop is a type of street dance and my favourite dance move was a step out it was fun to learn! 

Maori week

This  week was Maori week.  We have done a lot of things. first after lunch we did rotations and Kamiria  and I

had to stay with Rm 1 in room 3  class and make cool creations out of salt dough. When we were done we to Rm 1 and did Maori bingo with Mrs wobbly it was fun because  Mrs wobbly called  the Maori numbers instead.Then we moved  to rm 2 and played string games and we made the cup and saucer and 2 different type of para shots it was a blast 

me and my class had a whole bunch of fun on Wednesday afternoon.

last Friday we had a awesome visit at st Mary's school we had a blast 1. we sang a powhiri  and kapa haka was in the front! when the visitors came  we had such a big surprise! they wore the  famous Maris colts rugby players the whole team was their then when everyone sat down and talked about survive,faith,honest and lots more things to talk about then we sang more songs and then ...
we played a cool game and it is when you have to choose someone and one of the Maris colts had one rugby ball and some more players  holed Mr McMillan! and ... through the ball at Mr MC Milan cached the ball and I know  it sounds crazy so don't be a principle at St Mary's. here's a photo of him.  then we went outside and played ball rush with the Maris colts! and then the bell went and every one was still playing with the Maris colts  but  me and my friends where one first ad.

planet jupiter

this is my  planet fact sheet the whole class did this the teacher writes the planets and a number beside it. I got Jupiter and then we started off and went on our site and  we witted down all the facts and then we made a planet out of paper these are the final paper work I did.

goals for term 3!!

Writing: By the end of term 3 I will be able to use lots of different types of punctuation in my writing. To do this I will practise using different types of punctuation in my writing.   

Reading: By the end of term 3 I will be able to ask lots of questions about why the author wrote a story and about what is happening in the story.

Math: By the end of term 3 I will have learnt my 4 x time tables really well.

this is my healthy lunch box Sky (Name) was my buddy for this task.what we did were cut out healthy fruit out of an shopping magazine and glued it one and made an healthy lunch.
these are the final things our budget was 2$ and under we spent exactly 1$ 25 cents for all of these.

wind power project!

I have learned... new and fun ways to build and learn at the same time and did you know that new Zealand  has 19 wind farms?

I liked... building this project with my friend. but it was a big challenge but most of all I think it was super fun!  


Next time I would...chose hydro power and learn more and do more fun facts because I want to learn more new things at school!

term 2 Goal Reflection

WRITING GOAL

I have been getting better and I have diffidently been improving so much so I have kind of achieved my goal!

READING GOAL

I have achieved this goal because I learned  lots of new words like gash and that  means  cut.

MATHS GOAL

I have not achieved this goal yet because I am still working on my 7,8,12 x tables and I think that this goal will take a longtime to achieve. 

     

PERSONAL GOAL

I defiantly have learned my spelling because I love doing spelling and I learned so many new words and once you learned them you will think that they are really easy!

Term 2 goals

WRITING

• I will be able to put my full stops and capital  letters in my work.
• I will  be able to  put capital letters in names.

Pros and Cons 2017 school uniforms

   WHY SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T CHILDREN WHERE  UNIFORMS!

   

Introduction 

WHY DON'T CHILDREN  LIKE WEARING UNIFORMS?

Because we end up in the same uniforms for 5 days. I mean how would want to do that! You would be super  If you where the same things like your polar fleece it's super ITCHY! 

PRO/

PRO/ I think that uniforms are GOOD  NO FANTASTIC! So  the uniforms are so soft and cuddly in the summer and it's so warm  in the winter to!

CON/

CON/ I just hate wearing uniforms because I have a jacket and it's super ITCHY! I believe that uniforms should  NOT be wearing a uniforms OH! and did you know that  most polar fleece and school jackets are made of most PLASTIC bottles?

PLASTIC POLLUTION!

Have you ever littered?

Did you know that a turtle think that plastic bags look a lot like jelly fish?

Do you care about our sea animals any more?

Would you hurt and suffocate sea animals?

Plastic is getting 5.25 trillion tons of plastic every minute. ( 8 million tons)

In the 19th century plastic was used to save animals but now in our days plastic  kills them!! We use plastic things nearly every day and it is making the sea animals suffocate  them  Did you know that we are slowly poisoning our body's? Because when we eat fish because the plastic in the ocean  is breaking up and turning into micro beads and it is so tiny that you it's invisible!

Did you know that china recycles 80% will the u.s.a only recycles 8%

Have you ever herd of the great pacific garbage patch.

why do we use so much plastic?

well because of its low cost, light weight and Durability  these are the 6'rs

Did you know that over every square mile to the ocean has  46,000 pieces of plastic in it?

so stop using plastic!!!

camp writing 2017

When I went on the blue water rafting it was rough. When we jumped on the raft the man came and said I will tell you what to do.So we hoped in the blue water raft and off we go we each got a paddle so the man said paddle! paddle! PADDLE! but when it got too rough we had to go to the bottom of the raft. the magical owl

The magic of the white owl

One day a little girl named apple and her brother named morpork they were identical twins. they were both 6 years old and

they were walking in a mysterious forest and they left bread crumbs as a trail so they won’t get lost. but the birds ate all the  bread crumbs up.

As they were walking in the mysterious forest they heard a strange voice it was coming from a high branch and  they found an owl with a crystal necklace on the owl's neck. the owl said ``I know a safe place to sleep and eat`` because they were lost in the woods because the birds ate the bread crumbs.

So the little saplings were so amazed to see a talking owl! Apple said how can you talk! as she gazed at the owl’s white feathers. ``well said the owl I can talk because this crystal gave me the power to talk.`` So when they were in a gingerbread house they were munching the house until the owl said NO! Do you want to be sleeping in the dark?

a big flashing light and they were heading towards the light and all of a sudden they were out of the woods so the owl said now it is time to leave and go back to the woods but they said NO! you can live with us.The owl said ``but where you live there are NO BUGS TO EAT.`` YES! there is bugs to eat so the owl said OK! we are going to have so much fun together so the owl ate lots of bugs and the twins lived in a nice house where they can eat all the food they can eat.`

Writing : Narrative Legends.

Writing  Narrative Legends	I need help to write  a narrative legend.	I can write a narrative legend if I am guided.	I can use some structures of a narrative (beginning, middle, end, setting, characters, plot) I can use some descriptive words to describe characters, setting and events. How I worked It out by taking off the 0 when I had 690. so It is 69 because It Is always like using a new strategy for this type of math. so that's how I worked it out.

Genie in a bottle

In a old old bottle there lived genie. Marissa found a golden bottle crashing in the seven sea. Then she saw it and grabbed it. Then the genie said you only have 13 wishes. But she didn’t listen so instead she had 18 wishes so the genie lost all of her magical powers and Marissa gave them to the genies sister who was rotten evil she was also a genie!. Marissa was being rude and mean. Marissa was and she didn’t listen to what the very lovely genie said be careful what you wish for or you will meet the dark side! Marissa said``what’s the dark side? The dark side is a cruel place where my sister is she’ rotten and  cruel and she stole my powers when you gave them to her she wanted to take them away from me and she was jealous. OOPS! Sorry let’s find your rotten sister and get your powers back. So we went under sea and we found the castle and we found her sparkling powers. In this some kind of lab it's like she need them for something so we got her powers and swam back and dry off and Marissa felt depressed and Marissa said i’m sorry as she was shattered in tears and the genie said i accept your apology so the lived happily ever after
